co-founder, lead designer
Hey there! I’m Daniel, one of the co-founders of dprture. Like any good backstory, mine starts with boring details about my childhood.
I grew up playing with Legos and making (terrible) "short films.” I mean, they were seriously the worst, but it ignited a passion for creativity. I was the kid in school who couldn’t focus and would constantly daydream about doing anything other than being inside a classroom.
In 2008, my brother Austin and I started to (horribly) produce a video podcast. I started to invest my time into learning Photoshop so that we could make promotional stuff for our show. Eventually I started to branch out and try other things with design. I started to do some freelance work and side projects, and every time, I would learn something new.
A few years later, I got in contact with Hannah Spence. I started to watch her work, and before long, we started to collaborate on a few projects, and people liked what we were making. After some discussion, we realized we both had the same passion—make good stuff, and help people. That’s how dprture was born really. The rest was kind of a blur. It all really happened so fast, but it was one of the most exciting and rewarding feelings to know that we were going to do something that was actually going to make a difference in the world.
Anyway, I’m so, so thankful to be a part of what's going on with dprture. Thanks for checking us out!
